OUR STORY
SkillsConnection, LLC was founded from a passion for improving processes and empowering people.
We believe performance is only improved by 1) having clear processes and expectations, 2) fostering the employee's knowledge, and
3) connecting the employee to the workflow.
Yerania (Yeri) Martell-De Luca was born in Mexico and migrated to the U.S. as a 12-year-old. As a first-generation immigrant, Yeri has been the first in her family to graduate from college, serve in the armed forces (United States Air Force), and be appointed to a state-level commission, the Nevada Commission on Minority Affairs.
She founded SkillsConnection.org, a minority, woman, and veteran-owned professional service organization. Skills Connection.org was inspired by her work 20+ years as an auditor where she identified the need to bridge the gap between the skills of individuals and industry demands. Yeri is driven by the power of connection– whether linking humans to life-changing opportunities or solution-based improvements that elevate the customer experience. She is passionate about connecting all underrepresented young adults with life-changing opportunities. She defines underrepresented young adults as any individual identified at the high-school level as not college or career-ready because they did not fit into an academic path, such as AP, honors, or Career & Technical Education (CTE). Yeri is an audit and compliance professional. She has served as a Nevada Deputy Legislative Auditor and Audit Manager for Greater Nevada Credit Union. She is a curriculum developer and adjunct faculty member at Truckee Meadows Community College (TMCC) and focuses on adult education and workforce development. Yeri is also a partner at Eldercare Advice Now. She received a master’s in business administration from The University of Phoenix. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Resource Management from Troy University in Alabama. When Yeri is not working, she is tending the land at her urban ranch, riding her road bike, and hiking the Sierra Nevada mountains with her family and three dogs. |
